Prof. Teddy O.H. Prasetyono, MD, Ph.D, FICS - Consultant Surgeon Specializing in Hand and Microsurgery

​Teaching has always been an important part of my work. I regularly take part in scientific meetings, courses, and training programs in Indonesia and abroad. I have also written and contributed to scientific publications and books. In September 2026, I was honored to receive the APRAS Distinguished Oration Dedicated to Song Ruyao at APRAS Congress 2026, an opportunity I greatly value as a recognition from the regional plastic surgery community. I have also been professionally involved in holding international scientific meetings and was appointed as the Congress President for both APFSRM and APRAS Congress 2026. My research interests include hand surgery, microsurgery, regenerative therapy in plastic and reconstructive surgery, surgical technique improvements, and medical education.​​

I believe that our responsibility as surgeons extends beyond the hospital. For many years, I have been involved in cleft lip and palate services and other free community-based surgical activities across Indonesia. These experiences have reminded me that good medical care is not only about technical skill, but also about making that care accessible to those who need it.​ I am grateful for the recognition I have received throughout my career, including the Satyalancana Karya Satya honor from the President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2008 for my service as a government officer, and other several scientific and academic awards.​

Today, I continue to work in Jakarta while remaining involved in clinical practice, education, research, multidisiplinary collaboration - especially through Interdisciplinary Intellectual Forum / Forum Intelektual Antar Disiplin (FIAD), and professional service. I hope to keep learning, keep teaching, and contribute in whatever ways I can to the continued development of plastic surgery and medical education in Indonesia.
